Thanks to Niteowl for bringing this to my attention. Anyone can now comment on the posts here - there's no need to register with Posterous.

You should register with Posterous, though. It's great.

Opening gambit

One of the most popular queries on BoardGameGeek seems to be games that are suitable for couples. It's a question we've asked ourselves. This site is an attempt to review and recommend the two-player games we play, with scope for other short features around gaming. It will be, if you like, a beginner's guide - it has to be, as we're pretty much beginners ourselves. Hopefully it will be useful to anyone who stumbles across the boardgaming hobby, and wants to know where to go next.

Other sites we recommend:

  • Downtime Town - Robert Florence of Videogaiden & Consolevania reviews board games and is designing his own.
  • The Dice Tower - Tom Vasel and friends have a regular podcast and video reviews.
  • BoardGameGeek - frighteningly comprehensive and generally a pretty friendly if daunting place.
